Activity Details

Spot Details Time
Crowfoot Glacier Leaving Banff behind, the Icefields Parkway begins its climb into wilder, higher country. Your first stop is the Crowfoot Glacier viewpoint, named for the three claw-like ice tongues (now two, as the lower one has receded) clinging to the mountainside โ€” a perfect photo pause as the landscape turns dramatically alpine. 20 Minutes
Bow Lake Just ahead, Bow Lake spreads out in brilliant blue beneath the Crowfoot Mountain and Bow Glacier. With Num-Ti-Jah Lodge sitting quietly on its shore, it's a serene spot to stretch your legs and take in one of the parkway's most classic views. 30 Minutesr
Peyto Lake The road climbs higher still to reveal Peyto Lake from above โ€” its glacier-fed waters shaped like a wolf's head and colored an almost unreal turquoise. From the viewpoint, it's easily one of the most photographed lakes in the Canadian Rockies. 30 Minutes
Waterfowl Lake Stunning turquoise lake located along the scenic Icefields Parkway in Banff National Park. Surrounded by towering mountain peaks, it offers breathtaking views, crystal-clear waters, and a peaceful atmosphere. It's a perfect stop for photography, short walks, and enjoying the beauty of the Canadian Rockies. 20 Minutes
Columbia Icefield Centre Deeper into the journey, the landscape turns to ice and rock at the Columbia Icefield Centre, gateway to the largest icefield in the Rockies. Here, glaciers, mountains, and glacial history come together, setting the stage for the two optional glacier adventures ahead. 180 Minutes
Athabasca Glacier For those ready to step onto the ice itself, the Athabasca Glacier offers an up-close encounter with a moving river of ice thousands of years old. (activity arranged separately by travellers). Up to 30 Minutes
Skywalk Just down the road, the Skywalk offers a thrilling glass-floor platform suspended above the Sunwapta Valley โ€” a heart-pounding perspective on the landscape you've been driving through all day. (activity arranged separately by travellers). Up to 30 Minutes
